We are always looking for the next big thing, the improvement, the growth, the peak. We are so afraid of a plateau, of stagnation. But our life is not as simple as a graph, there is so much complexity and factors that it is impossible to graph our lives accurately. A plateau is not something to fear but to applaud. It means to dispute everything going on, the hardships, the challenges, you maintain yourself. You did not fall behind. You remained where you needed to be and that is impressive. And sometimes we forget the luxury that is our lives. This concept of a plateau was centric to the design process for this necklace. It’s a testament to all the stages of our lives, the ups, the downs and especially the plateaus. Creating something with meaning is what makes a piece luxury, so let’s redefine luxury one piece at a time.
